Regarding item 2: The Herald spoke to Prof. Krauss ahead of his visit to Australia. A while ago, Prof. Feser had a good blog post refuting, quite amusingly, the sort of something-from-nothing nonsense for which Prof. Krauss has achieved a measure of fame:
