Secret collusion between abortionists and Parliament? No, it’s not secret at all!

http://blogs.theaustralian.news.com.au/letters/index.php/theaustralian/comments/health_groups_aims/

It turns out that there is no secret collaboration between the pro-abortion “Australian Reproductive Health Alliance” (A.R.H.A.) and the “Parliamentary Group on Population and Development” (P.G.P.D.). As we learn in a letter to The Australian from someone from the A.R.H.A., their collaboration is quite open and formal! See the following excerpt:

The article [by Mrs. Angela Shanahan] omits to mention that ARHA provides secretariat support to the PGPD. The claim of collusion implies an improper relationship between ARHA and the PGPD, rather than the formal, professional relationship that exists
Nothing to worry about here, folks!

This sort of thing just leaves one speechless.
I suppose that their next ' quite open and formal' relationship will be with those advocating the bumping off of the elderly infirm!

BTW, I like reading your blog. It gets me thinking!

Kirk and Louise,

thank you for your comments, and welcome to this blog, Kirk.

Kirk, you said

You might be surprised to learn that in Australia, such a possibility was canvassed some time ago, showing how desperate the situation is here. Here is a recent quotation from Australian pro-life blogger Mr. Bill Muehlenberg on the matter:

"In 1994 the Economic Planning Advisory Commission discussed the rising costs of health care for the elderly, and the problem of overcrowding in hospitals. In a publication called “Australia’s Aging Society,” EPAC actually looked at the use of euthanasia as one option in the whole discussion!"

Louise,

"I hope you have written your own letter to The Oz, Pole."

Ah, but that might compromise my pseudonymity! Although The Australian's on-line letters page does have a comments function, and one can make a response directly to the letter (which I was tempted to do, but the A.R.H.A. president who wrote the letter was pretty much condemned by her own mouth, as it were).

As for writing in to the paper itself, maybe ... Keep an eye out for an 'R. Pole, suburb of Canterbury' ...

I know that situation well. Although I was born in England and live in Germany at the moment, I have lived many years in Melbourne and indeed own a house in the beautiful outer suburb of Chirnside Park!
